Weirdo Alert!

by blogger jgl

This article is just the latest from this whole ridiculous thing. I never followed the case that closely. What is the deal with the DNA evidence? Do they have a full str profile? It was on her underwear, but not semen? What's the theoretical source?

Also, we were told the reason they arrested this guy (they must have received dozens of false confessions) is because he knew something only the killer would know. Well, what is that something? Did I miss it?

This is shameful if this guy just turns out to be a pervert liar.

With so much riding on a DNA match, the slower pace of events may reflect the prosecutor's wish to follow a strict protocol, experts said.

Although authorities reportedly took DNA from the suspect in Bangkok, potential legal and technical questions could plague a sample taken overseas, said Lawrence Kobilinsky, professor of forensic science at John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York.

And could we please stop referring to him as John Mark Karr. We get it. People with 3 names are famous murderers. Cripes!

I think that this whole case is really sad. First the parents are suspect and now she dies before any true/real closure could take place. It was quite insane for the man in the picture to say that he had something to do with Ramsey's murder and he didn't. Why would someone want to take the blame? Some people are just plain crazy!!! Question? Like fingerprints of criminals kept in a computer/database, is DNA such as semen samples/codes able to be kept on file? Can it, or would someone want to preserve something like semen? In other words like fingerprints can DNA be matched with computer records from previous criminal happenings to convict recent criminal activity? K.Y. JSQ110

I also think this is a sad situation. I really think the parents had something to do with the murder. I think the guy is a lunatic for doing all that he has done but in the news it also tells what he went through as a child. I am not saying it is okay what he did but I have seen how bad a person can be messed up because of something that happened in their childhood. he definitely needs to be put in a home, in my opinion forever, to get the help he needs, because if he does not get any help he will not ever realize how crazy he is.

I cannot imagine why anyone would just want to go to prison so I'm going to try to make myself believe that this is logical. Is it maybe possible that this man is linked to the murder in some way other than being the murderer? If it is fame he seeks, this is how he has gotten it. Was that what he wanted or is he just so "special" that he thinks prison is a good thing? JS 110Q-EDS

to answer k.y., yes DNA is kept on file. It varies from state to state as far as what you have to do in oreder to get your dna on file. usually a person must be convicted of a violent crime or sex crime. hopefully john karr will be convicted of a related sex crime (i think he is up on child porn charges in CA) so his DNA can be kept on file.

for KH, no doubt a rough past messed this guy up. the really sad thing is that for most sex offenders, therapy doesn't cut it. they are life long addicts and have to figure out how to deal with it.

for EDS, i don't think there is a link. i think he is obsessed and starved for fame. i'm just surprised he got it. there are always a lot of false confessions when it comes to high profile crimes. Of course, maybe he just wanted that million dollar book deal...
